What's Existential Analysis?
![]() |
As its name suggests
this form of psychotherapy is concerned with what it is like to exist
as you. Your concerns or
difficulties are approached as arising out of problems in living
rather than out of some form of pathology or illness.
Exisitential
analysis is an exploration and clarification of how you approach life
and the demands it makes of you. It recognizes that from time to
time
life will bring us all face to face with difficulties and challenges
which seem overwhelming; that life can
sometimes be hard, unfair and filled
with crises, disappointments and injustices. The therapy
aims is to help you to face up these and find ways of meeting them.
There is an emphasis on personal choice and responsibility. You will have the opportunity to develop a wider understanding of yourself and your world, to uncover and challenge your assumptions; to clarify your values and to find a way forward. You will be heard without judgement. Anything you say will be held in confidence. The focus will be on what it means to be you, what is important to you and what has meaning for you. |
